The Skudenes Historical Society was founded in November 1974 and has since worked to preserve and share the local history of Skudeneshavn and the surrounding area. The society has played a key role in collecting historical artifacts, documents, and stories that offer a unique insight into the town’s rich cultural heritage.

Through projects such as book publications, the member magazine “Havrekster,” and collaborations with local organizations, the historical society has helped to increase knowledge of and interest in the history of Skudeneshavn. The historical society was also the driving force behind the establishment of the Skudeneshavn Museum itself, which today stands as a living testament to their dedication and hard work.

The Historical Society continues its important work of collecting, preserving, and sharing the city’s history for future generations.
